ISLAMABAD: Leader of the House in the Senate of Pakistan Senator Shahzad Waseem Thursday said that the opposition was contradicting its own stance opted in 2016 against horse trading in the meeting of the Senate Committee of the Whole.
He said that in 2015, Mian Raza Rabbani was the Chairman Senate, Raja Zafarul Haq was the Leader of the House and Aitzaz Ahsan was the Leader of the Opposition, and the issue of horse trading was debated in the Upper House on August 7, 2015. On August 10, 2015, the Leader of the House moved a motion to refer the matter to the Senate Committee of the Whole. The committee met on Nov 11, 2015 and May 12 2016. On May 20, 2016, the Committee of the Whole presented its proposals. These were unanimous proposals and no one opposed them.

Thursday’s five-plus hour U.S. congressional hearing on GameStop had all of that, as top hedge fund managers, the head of Robinhood, and Roaring Kitty himself answered a barrage of questions over who was at fault in January’s trading frenzy.
GameStop rose more than 1,000% during two weeks as retail traders using the Reddit platform encouraged each other to pile in, socking it to hedge fund managers who were short the stock - a bet GameStop would fall.
The trade deflated, however, after online brokerage Robinhood and several other brokers controversially restricted buying GameStop’s shares - leaving retail investors frustrated but capping the losses for the hedge funds.

. is why nearly every financial media outlet thought it necessary to cover Thursday s virtual House Financial Services Committee Hearing all day long. Don t get me wrong. Holding the hearings is a great idea, but televising the event for hours upon hours for an audience that has these channels on all day because they run the tape for free and not so much for the content?
